The Vintgar Gorge, located on the eastern edge of the Triglav National Park, is a 1600 m long and up to 250 m deep gorge.

It was formed by the Radovna mountain river, which flows into the Sava Dolinka as a right tributary shortly after exiting the gorge. The Radovna River Basin is located in the Krma and Kot valleys in the Triglav Mountains, and it also collects water from the northern part of Pokljuka and Mežakla. Its valley above Vintgar is 19 km long.

The Radovna River flows over large rocks with a powerful murmur. A beautiful view of the thundering waterfall Šum, which falls 16 metres deep, opens up from the bridge. After only a few minutes of descent, we are already beneath the waterfall, where many visitors managed to capture a photograph of the miraculous rainbow. Who knows what lies beneath it?

There are several entrances to the gorge from the direction of Bled and the gorjanska direction, as well as from the opposite side via Blejska Dobrava.  Suggested walk through the Vintgar Gorge.
