VISIT & EXPLORE
FREE GUIDED TOURS IN THE VICINITY OF BLED
Every day, seven days a week, between June 15th and September 15th 2023, we invite you to explore the cultural, natural and historical attractions in the vicinity of Bled. From Monday to Sunday, you can join our local guides in the discovery of interesting nearby towns: the historic Radovljica, the artisanal Tržič, the iron entwined Jesenice and the charming Kropa, home of traditional blacksmiths. Listen to the stories of medieval castles and explore the mighty ruins of Castle Kamen and the old Altgutenberg castle and it’s cursed castle lady. Explore the magnificent creations of nature in the Dovžan gorge, and uncover the secret underground world of St. Anna Mines. Local guides will bring you closer to attractions, that would be hard for you to find alone. Some unique and special experiences will be arranged just for you on certain trips: In Kropa, you will be able to try your hand at forging nails, whilst in Tržič, you can test your skills at designing and baking the traditional „flika“ flatbread. Many museums and galleries invite you to visit after the guided tour: Beekeeping or Pharmacy and Alchemy Museum in Radovljica, Iron Forging Museum in Kropa, Museum in Tržič with interesting collections on the history of shoemaking and skiing, and the Stara Sava Museum Area in Jesenice.
For more information, please contact the tourist information centre in your area or the reception of your accommodation.
Jesenice – a city of Alpine beat and Iron will
The exploration of Jesenice will begin at the Jesenice railway station, designed by renowned architect Stanislav Rohrman, and will then take the route to Čufarjev trg, the central Jesenice square. We will look at the interesting buildings that surround the square and talk about Jesenice's history. The path will take us through a new link to Stara Sava, a one-of-a-kind ironworking settlement in Central Europe. From there, we hop over the Herman Bridge to Podmežakla Hall, the Slovenian hockey capital. We return to the assembly point after passing through the cheerleading subway.
Every Saturday between the 17th of June and the 9th of September.
Time 11:15 a.m.
