Around Španov vrh

From the picturesque village of Planina pod Golico, the path leads us through the valley of Črni potok past the Sava caves to Križovec and through “Jeseniški rovti” over Prihodi back to Planina pod Golico. The tour is somewhat demanding due to riding on gravel roads and the steep climb towards Križovec. It is suitable for mountain bikers.

The Devil's Tour

The cycling trip takes us from the centre of Jesenice through Javorniški Rovt, past Pristava to the Križovec saddle under the Karavanke ridge and then across Planina pod Golico back to Jesenice. The trip is very demanding due to the steep climb to Javorniški Rovt. It is suitable for mountain bikers who are in good physical condition.

Sava tour

A short cycling tour takes us from Blejska Dobrava across Slovenski Javornik, Potoki, over the Sava Dolinka River and across the grassy fields of Dobravsko polje, past the cemetery, and back to the starting point at Blejska Dobrava.

Around Jesenice

An easy cycling tour takes cyclists around Jesenice and the surrounding area. The path takes us from Blejska Dobrava past Slovenski Javornik and Koroška Bela, through Jesenice to Hrušica; it continues under the slopes of Mežakla, the high Karst plateau, past the Stara Sava museum area, through Podmežakla and Lipce, and back to Blejska Dobrava. The tour takes cyclists on less busy side roads, as well as on macadam paths.

Interesting sights along the trail: Murova (oldest part of Jesenice), Kos Manor, St. Leonard’s Church, Stara Sava museum area, Gornjesavski muzej Jesenice (Upper Sava Museum), Koroška Bela Memorial Park, oak sculpture in Koroška Bela.

Cycling route Jesenice-Mojstrana-Jesenice

From the ironworking town to the cradle of Slovenian mountaineering, the Upper Sava Valley offers a pleasant family cycling trail.

Trans Karavanke Mountain Bike Trail

The Trans Karavanke Mountain Bike Trail runs from Jezersko to the Tromeja, and can also be cycled in the opposite direction. It mainly runs on forest roads on the sunny Karavanke slopes. You will be enchanted by the beautiful views and enjoyment of unspoiled nature for more than 130 kilometres along the way. The trail is suitable for very fit mountain bikers. The route is divided into several stages, and the stage Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom–Mojstrana stage runs through the Municipality of Jesenice.

Juliana Bike Mountain Biking Loop

The Juliana Bike Mountain Biking Loop Trail is part of the Slovenian Mountain Biking Route, but it is circularly completed and can be viewed as a separate stage along the Julian Alps' edge. One of the stages of the Juliana Biking Loop Trail runs through the Municipality of Jesenice.

Interesting sights along the trail: birth house of Matija Čopa, the Stara Sava Museum Area, the Upper Sava Museum of Jesenice, the fortress ruins before Moste HPP, Moste HPP, the cemetery in Blejska Dobrava (architectural sight), the Slovenian Alpine Museum.

Gorenjska Cycling Network and Long-distance Cycling Connection D2

The Gorenjska Cycling Network is a carefully designed network of connections in the area of the Upper Carniola region and some neighbouring municipalities. The network of cycle-friendly roads provides a unique opportunity to travel from place to place while discovering sights and meeting the locals. Everyone can find a suitable and adequate route to explore the greater Upper Carniola region in their own unique way.

The long-distance cycling connection LG3 runs through the Municipality of Jesenice. The Gorenjska Cycling Network also includes the D2 long-distance bicycle connection, which runs from Italy through Rateče, Radovljica, Ljubljana, Novo mesto, and beyond to Croatia. There are two entrances to the bicycle connection with parking lots in Jesenice: Stara Sava and the Podmežakla sports hall. From Jesenice, you can cycle towards Rateče or towards Radovljica. It is appropriate for both family cycling and more demanding excursions because it allows visitors to customise the length and route of the excursion based on their abilities and preferences.

Fent trail

The mountain-biking single track is set up exclusively for riding with mountain bikes in the direction of descent Križovec - in the direction of Prihodi - 60 m in the direction of Črni vrh - 200 m to the marked single track to the Sava Caves.
